Getting poorer by the day: Turkey's lira in freefall
The Turkish lira is plummeting to new lows, propping up inflation and making basic goods unaffordable. People feel they are getting poorer by the day. President Recep Tayyib Erdogan is set in his financial policies, keeping interest rates low against the advice of economic experts. The promised boost in production, tourism and exports is yet to materialize. This could prove costly in the 2023 elections, but until then ordinary Turks are bearing the brunt of this political gamble. CNN's Jomana Karadsheh reports.
